Subcision at Dundrum Clinic
Subcision is is an effective treatment for reducing or removing the appearance of scars. It is an alternative to CO2 laser or RF microneedling treatments.
Whilst CO2 laser skin resurfacing and RF microneedling are electronic treatments, subcision is a manual process. It works by inserting a small needle under your skin, which releases the scar from the tissue underneath.
Although it is most commonly used to treat the appearance of scars, it can also help to treat scars caused by things such as surgery or wounds.
Why subcision?
Whilst most laser-based treatments can only reach about 1.5mm below the skin, subcision can reach up to 5mm beneath the surface of your skin.
This means subcision is highly effective at treating deep or depressed scars, otherwise known as atrophic scars.
For more information about the treatment, you can book an initial consultation with us. It costs just €20, which is refunded in full should you choose to take up treatment here at Dundrum Clinic.
