We know there are a lot of fungal nail treatments out there. And we know it's a tricky condition to treat. Luckily, we also know we've found a safe and effective solution for the issue.

We use two FDA-approved lasers to treat nail fungus: the Lunula Laser and Nd:YAG Laser. Either one can achieve eye-catching results in a short space of time. The reason why we can say that so confidently? Because of our skilled staff, years of experience and proven results.

The YAG Laser

The YAG laser delivers controlled heat that destroys the fungal organisms responsible for infection. This method is particularly effective for moderate to severe cases, where thickened or discoloured nails have resisted topical treatments. Patients typically experience a warming sensation during the session, but no downtime is required.

The Lunula Laser

The Lunula laser is a low-level, cold laser that works in a completely different way. Rather than using heat, it stimulates the immune system and increases blood flow to the treated area, encouraging the body to fight off the infection naturally. It is completely painless and safe for all patients, including those with medical conditions who may not be candidates for heat-based lasers or creams.

Frequently asked questions

Fungal nail infection (onychomycosis) tends to develop if your feet are constantly warm or damp. For this reason, you're more likely to get an infection if you wear trainers for extended periods.

To avoid infection, you should keep your feet as clean and dry as possible.

When it comes to treating a nail fungus infection, you generally have two options:

  • oral treatments (creams or tablets)
  • laser treatments

Oral treatments such as antifungal nail cream or antifungal tablets can take up to 12 months to take effect - if they work at all. There are also a number of potential side effects with antifungal tablets that don't make them suitable for everyone.

On the other hand, laser treatments such as the Lunula Laser are a quicker and more effective solution for nail fungus. You can read more about the effectiveness of the Lunula Laser in this clinical study.

The low-level energy from the cold Lunula Laser stimulates the immune system and increases blood flow to the treated area, encouraging the body to fight off the infection naturally. It is completely painless and safe for all patients, including those with medical conditions who may not be candidates for heat-based lasers or creams.

The YAG Laser emits a slightly warmer laser that raises the temperature in the nail bed to a level that is intolerable for the fungi but safe for human cells. Over time, this eliminates the fungi from underneath your nail.

We will select the best laser for you based on your individual condition.

In our experience, patients see a noticeable improvement in their condition after three treatments.

However, it's worth noting that every patient is different and will see different results. This is intended as a guide rather than a rule.
