Men and women often seek out intimate bleaching treatments if they're uncomfortable with dark skin around their genital areas. If that includes you, then you’re not alone.

Some ethnic groups naturally have darker skin around their genital area. Some women notice stretching and discolouration after childbirth. Others experience change as a result of hormonal shifts, infection or as part of the ageing process.

Whatever your situation, Dundrum Clinic offers a range of treatment options to suit. Our intimate bleaching treatments even out your skin tone so you can feel less self-conscious and more comfortable in your skin.

How intimate bleaching works

We have two treatment options for intimate bleaching. The first is by applying specialised skin peels (such as HAPPY intim Peels or dermamelan® intimate), taking into consideration your skin type and specific needs.

We can also perform intimate bleaching by using laser treatment to break down excess pigmentation and stimulate the production of collagen. This results in a lighter, smoother and more evenly-toned appearance in sensitive areas.

Either treatment is comfortable, non-invasive and there is generally little to no downtime afterwards. It means you can get back to your daily routine immediately after the procedure.

Frequently asked questions

Intimate bleaching is the evening out of the skin tone in your intimate area. Although it can be an uncomfortable condition, the treatment is generally done for cosmetic purposes.

Our intimate bleaching treatments are usually aimed at one of three groups:

  • Ethnic groups who are genetically predisposed to have darker skin in the genital region.
  • Women who suffer from hormonal skin darkening, post-childbirth scarring & stretching, or discolouration as a consequence of ageing.
  • Men and women who have had hair removed from their genital areas, exposing darker skin underneath.

To lighten the skin around your intimate area, we apply chemical skin peels to the target area. We do this in two separate appointments at the clinic.

Prior to your first appointment, you will need to apply a preparation product (available from the clinic) for one week. Your second treatment should take place between 15 to 30 days after your first.

During your initial consultation, we'll provide you with the skincare products you need to apply to the target area before your first treatment. These products are included in the total cost of your treatment.

Normally this preparation period starts between 2 and 4 weeks before your first treatment. The timescale depends on your skin colour and type of pigmentation.

The price for a small area of skin starts from €120.
