Dermapen microneedling uses tiny sterilised needles to improve the tone and texture of your skin. It can also improve the appearance of acne, scars, wrinkles and dark patches of skin.

This is one of our most popular treatments - and it's easy to see why. Each session takes just 30 minutes and there's little to no downtime afterwards. Our patients normally see optimum results after 4-6 treatments.

At our clinic in Dublin we perform the microneedling treatment using the Nanopore stylus. These adjustable microneedles are precision operated to ensure you get the desired results without any risks.

How does it work?

Microneedling uses tiny needles to puncture microscopic holes in the surface of your skin. This stimulates the production of collagen in your body, which is a vital protein for maintaining skin firmness and freshness.

The Dermapen is a medical-grade device known for its precision and safety. Unlike traditional rollers, its vertical needle movement allows for a more controlled treatment with less trauma to the skin and faster recovery.

As your skin starts the healing process, it can help to reduce the appearance of a number of skin conditions, including:

  • acne
  • scars
  • wrinkles
  • fine lines
  • dark spots

And many more besides! Simply put, microneedling with the Dermapen is a quick, safe and effective solution that restores the natural vitality of your skin.

Frequently asked questions

Microneedling is an effective treatment for sagging skin, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, dehydrated skin, scarring, pigmentation, sun damage, stretch marks and more.

Microneedling uses a series of micro needles to open thousands of micro channels in the skin. The micro-punctures on the surface of the skin stimulate the production of both elastin and collagen - two naturally-occuring proteins in your body that help to maintain the structure and firmness of your skin.

The Dermapen is a medical-grade device known for its precision and safety. Unlike traditional rollers, its vertical needle movement allows for a more controlled treatment with less trauma to the skin and faster recovery.

Visible benefits include:

  • Increased firmness and elasticity of the skin
  • Fine lines and wrinkles are softened
  • Improved face tone
  • Skin is deeply hydrated
  • Skin regeneration
  • Overall skin rejuvenation

The Dermapen causes less discomfort and there is a much shorter recovery time than manual rollers. Because the length of the stylus is adjustable, we can also achieve better results.

A microneedling session typically takes 30 minutes. It may occasionally last up to one hour.

For the treatment to work effectively, you’ll need 4-6 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart.

Yes. When carried out by our experienced staff it is much safer than at-home roller treatments. Microneedling is low risk and can be just as effective as invasive treatments. It is safe and suitable for all skin types.

Microneedling is generally a comfortable and well-tolerated treatment. However, it depends on your individual sensitivity. We can apply topical anaesthetic over the entire surface area to minimise any pain. The anaesthetic is left in place for 30 minutes, after which it is removed to ensure the skin is clean and ready to treat.

After the procedure, you might notice a little erythema (redness of the skin caused by increased blood flow) and general skin reddening for up to 6 hours afterwards. This is absolutely normal.

We recommend a maintenance session every two months after the treatment is completed to maintain the results.

After each session, you should avoid using makeup for at least 12 hours. We also recommend the use of high SPF sun protection if you're going to be exposed to the sun.

Microneedling for the full face costs €200.

The full face treatment with 1ml of hyaluronic acid costs €300.

This price includes consultation, skin analysis, the treatments at our Dublin clinic and a home care product.
