Facial Thread Veins

Are you fed up of having to cover up those ugly thread veins on your face?

Quite often it can be seen as the curse of having a fine Irish complexion – our skin is delicate and fragile. Add to that harsh winter winds and rain with indoor central heating, and a good blast of sun on our annual summer holidays.
But the good news is the damage can often be undone!

We have had tremendous success treating broken veins, in many cases practically eradicating them. Remedies involve a series of individualised treatments using lasers designed specifically to target this condition.

Your skincare is a vital part of the treatment though, and we will advise you on how to prevent further damage occurring in the future.

What is laser vein treatment?

Laser therapy is a proven treatment for treating unsightly broken and dilated vessels as well as rosacea. In fact, the latest advances in laser technology have given us a method for removal that is safer, faster and more effective than any previous treatment.

How does laser vein treatment work?

Lasers work by emitting a specialised light that is passed through the skin and preferentially absorbed by the hemoglobin (the red portion of blood) in the unwanted vessels. The laser causes the vein to break up and disappear. We have several lasers available that work remarkably well in treating unwanted veins.

How does laser vein treatment work?

What can I expect with the treatment?
Most people describe the treatment feeling like a rubber band snap. After treatment, you can immediately return to normal activities.

How soon will I see results?

Because laser vein treatment works by causing the unwanted vein to break up and dissolve, resolution of the unwanted vein will take place over the course of several weeks.

What is laser vein treatment?

Very occasionally there can be bruising around the treated area, and will only last a few days.

Is the treatment permanent?

If your skin has a tendency to broken veins, it’s possible for these to come back, especially in very delicate but exposed areas such as the nose. Quite often you’ll need a top-up treatment about every 6 months .

What is the cause of spider veins?

Spider veins can occur on any area of the body, but are most common on the legs and face. The exact cause of spider veins is not known, but quite often the tendency to develop them can run in families. Spider veins are more common in women.
It seems female hormones can play a role in the development of spider veins. Changes in body chemistry such as puberty, birth control pills, menopause, and hormone therapy can bring on spider veins. Constrictive clothing, can also cause their development, and so can too much sun exposure. If you are prone to broken veins, sun protection is a must to prevent any more appearing.

What is the cost of this procedure?

Your initial assessment to see if you are suitable for this treatment is free of charge. The price of the treatment is dependent on the size of the area to be treated, which will be assessed at your consultation.
