Pixel™ Skin Resurfacing

Pixel skin resurfacing

Smooth, improve, tone and firm – Pixel™ offers these solutions for your skin.

.What is Pixel Skin Resurfacing?

Pixel Skin Resurfacing is the next generation of laser  that helps to improve skin texture, tone and firm, smooth wrinkles, reduces pore size and treat acne scars. Pixel™ works by plumping the collagen in the skin without the downtime and discomfort associated with other resurfacing lasers. The Harmony Pixel™ Erbium Laser is an FDA-approved laser.

Why is it different from other laser treatments?

The Harmony Pixel™ Laser delivers results similar to ablative lasers (lasers that resurface the skin) but without the side effects which can include significant irritation as the skin heals. The Harmony Pixel™ also can be used on many more body parts such as the face, neck, chest, arms and hands.

What can be treated?

The Harmony Pixel™ Laser is used to treat:

  • Wrinkles
  • Acne
  • Acne Scarring
  • Age Spots (on the hands & chest)
  • Superficial Skin Lesions
  • Skin Resurfacing
  • Stretch Marks

How does Pixel skin resurfacing work?

The Er:Yag Pixel™ laser uses a matrix of microscopic laser beams each the size of a human hair to drill into the skin leaving much of the surrounding skin undisturbed. Because nearby cells are not damaged they are able to move into the microscopic injured area and promote rapid healing.

Pixel™ combines the proven effectiveness of an ablative approach with the client comfort level and convenience of a non-ablative approach. Pixel™ skin resurfacing is based on the principle of microthermal treatment zones. The laser pulses create tiny ablative zones, removing the epidermis and upper dermis. The treatment then triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin tissue.

The procedure treats small zones of the skin, leaving surrounding tissue untouched and intact. These large unaffected areas act as a reservoir for more effective and rapid tissue healing and collagen production. The bottom line: new, healthier, smoother tissue in place of skin imperfections.

Can my skin be treated?

All areas of the body can be treated but it should be emphasized that resurfacing techniques work best on facial skin. All types of skin colour can be treated except dark skinned Afro-Caribbean.

How many treatments do I need?

We recommend a series of 2-4 treatments (depending on skin indications and desired results) usually at 4 week intervals.

Pixel™ is often bundled with other light-based therapies to achieve optimum results, including: Photo-rejuvenation, Chemical Peels and other skin tightening procedures.

Does it hurt?

There is little or no discomfort during the treatment. Most commonly, clients feel some slight warmth with the pulse of the laser. Clients experience a sun-burn like sensation afterwards (3-4 hours) that is easily neutralised with a gentle moisturiser.

Are there any side-effects?

Typically, there is little to no downtime associated with the treatment. However some redness and swelling of the skin usually occurs and may last a few hours to a couple of days. Mineral make-up can be applied immediately after the treatment to help conceal any redness. Expect slight peeling and flaking to occur for one or two days following the procedure, however full recovery is expected in about five days. Your skin will look better within days following the treatment, and results steadily improve over the next few months.

How much does it cost?

A full face costs €182 for a 1 hour treatment
