Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers are especially useful to lift out folds, such as those that can run from nose to mouth, or those bothersome lines that can form around the lips.

Brand names for dermal fillers include Restylane, Radiesse and Sculptra. These dermal fillers have been approved for their intended use.

Dermal fillers are injected below the skin’s surface and fill out fine lines and wrinkles, and in some cases, scars. They effectively add volume to the skin, providing a more natural and youthful appearance. Whilst they are marketed as dermal (skin) fillers, they also can provide fullness and enhancement to thinning lips. The results are instant. Dermal fillers are used to sculpt the face, and restore that youthful shape and glow.

Let’s have a closer look the main filler:

Restylane

The oldest of the three, Restylane was developed in Sweden in 1996. Since then, it has become the favourite anti-wrinkle treatment in more than 60 countries around the world, including Ireland, the U.K., Europe, Canada and the United States.

Because Restylane is the longest established dermal filler on the market it is the only dermal filler we use, as its safety profile has been established over many years.

Restylane is a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid, the same stuff that’s not working so well in your own skin. And because it’s synthetic – which is not necessarily a bad thing, by the way – your body won’t react to it in the same way other anti-wrinkle treatments might. Restylane is the only treatment not made with animal by-products that you could get an allergic reaction from, which also means you don’t usually have to pre-test to use it.

Restylane has been clinically proven to be safe, gentle and has provided natural looking, instantaneous results over the years. To date over 10 million Restylane treatments have been performed worldwide.

Skin Rejuvenation with Restylane Vital

Rejuvenation of the neck and face, backs of hands, decolettage

Now with Restylane Vital we can very effectively rejuvenate the face and neck, the backs of the hands and the decolettage

What is Restylane Vital and how does it work?

Restylane Vital restores the hyaluronic acid which ageing has taken away leading to new collagen production. Quite simply Restylane Vital moisturises from within, and provides long lasting hydration to the treated areas treated in a way that no expensive cream can never achieve.

The amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases with age, and this leads to some of the most obvious features of ageing skin including: wrinkles, loss of elasticity, skin dryness and protruding veins. The Restylane Vital treatments replace the lost hyaluronic acid and collagen, hydrating the skin from within, plumping up and rejuvenating the face, decolettage and hands.

What does the procedure involve and how long does it work?

Restylane Vital is injected via a very small needle in the skin throughout the area being treated. For optimal results, an initial course of 3 treatments at 4 week intervals is recommended. After that a 6 monthly maintenance treatment may be required, although in time these maintenance treatments become more and more infrequent.

Does it hurt?

The treatment takes about 15-30 minutes, and is not very painful at all because the needles used are tiny. Depending on your pain threshold we can numb the skin with a topical anaesthetic cream.
